What are quantitative hCG blood tests?

Hormone test. Human chorionic gonadotrophic hormone is generally increased in pregnancy and serves as the basis of pregnancy tests. Quantitative HCG tests also provide information about the health of the placenta. High HCG levels are also seen in some tumors of the ovary and testes.
HCG levels. The quantitative HCG is a measurement of the amount of pregnancy hormone in the blood. A qualitative HCG is simply a test to detect the presence of the pregnancy hormone - it does not indicate how much hormone is present, which relates to how advanced a pregnancy may be. The urine pregnancy test is qualitative - a blood test can be either qualitative or quantitative.

Seems unlikely. Condoms are pretty effective at preventing pregnancy. May be a bit early for a beta. A positive beta would be real but a negative would require a retest. I would wait until next week i think... Read more...

My hCG level was 229 at 4 weeks and at 4 weeks and 2 days it was 329 there was 36 hours between blood tests. Are tge numbers ok?

Not clear yet. The first number is very high, suggestive of twins. The second number did not rise as much as expected. So it is possible one one survived. It could be overall an abnormal pregnancy. It could be totally fine with a rise just now as much as expected. It will take another 10 days or so to figure out. Read more...

I was wondering if you could better explain to me in detail how blood tests detect hcg in more detail than Google could.

Dr Google. Not sure what you got from google but HCG is a hormone that is produced by an implanted embryo after conception. Labs can measure it in the blood and it is excreted in the urine (urine pregnancy test.) It doubles about daily in your blood up to approximately the first trimester and tends to level out and drop a bit during the rest of pregnancy. There are some cancers that can also produce it. Are blood tests for hCG levels always right after 1 month of having sex? Could it ever be a negative while it's positive my hCG levels were 0.375

Unclear question. There is wide variation in HCG levels in early pregnancy. A level of <5 units is not pregnant; level >25 units is pregnant and in between 5 and 25 needs retesting. See this site for more info. http://www.babymed.com/hcg-level-in-early-pregnancy. Read more...

I had hCG blood test and it was a negative after 1 month of sex... How valid are blood tests? Can they ever tell me that I'm not pregnant when I'm not

Time & technique. Both urine and blood tests for HCG are very accurate in measuring hcg. It is better to do either test 4-5 days after a missed period. Negative pregnancy test done after one month of the last episode of sex is a good indication that the person is not pregnant. You should repeat the test 7-10 days later for an added measure.
