For good reasons IUD use is increasing in the USA.
They are the most effective contraceptive second only to permanent sterilization. Yet completely reversible. They are extremely convenient taking about as much time to insert as having a pap smear, and last 5 years for Mirena (levonorgestrel) & 10 years for Paraguard. Inexpensive over long-term. In addition, Mirena (levonorgestrel) makes your period much lighter too!
