In brief: If you have to ask -

Nitrates - typically found in higher concentration in some drinking water and in cured meat products such as hot dogs and sausage - and not to be confused with nitro-related medications - are a health risk.
And so definitely not recommended in pregnancy. Eat a wide variety of foods while pregnant including lots of fruits and vegetables - and keep on eating that way even when you're not pregnant!

In brief: Not really

The evidence seems to indicate that you should minimize your intake of nitrates, which are salts used to preserve some meats and other foods, whether you are pregnant or not.
