Cancers of the rectum and sigmoid could metastasize to the lungs before the liver. Cancers in the other parts of the colon could go to liver before lungs but not necessarily.

In brief: No

After the liver, the lungs are the most common distant site of colorectal metastases.
In selected patients, removal of such lesions may be indicated and lead to increased survival.
