I just found out I was pregnant and I have 2 rods in my pelvis from a crushed pelvis. Will I need a c-section? I had a car accident 8 years ago and crushed my pelvis. I haven't gotten pregnant in 15 years. I am 43 years old.
No surprise. If the pelvis is fused and small, you may not be able to have vaginal delivery. Discuss with obgyn and with ultrasound and observation they may be able to better predict.
The. The safest thing for you and your baby is to have a scheduled c-section. Your pelvis will likely not be able to sustain the force of labor. I am not sure if any doctor would risk a vaginal delivery in a patient that has rods in her pelvis. You should discuss this with your ob/gyn and get all your questions answers. Best of luck and congratulations on your pregnancy.
