Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous system. A neurologist is a physician specializing in neurology and trained to investigate, or diagnose and treat neurological disorders. Neurology also has many subspecialties.

This includes diseases involving the central (brain, spinal cord), peripheral nervous system (nerve, nerve muscle junction, muscle), autonomic nervous system (fight or flight response).
& Neurology IS NOT.. Psychiatry though we share MANY patients between us. Neurosurgery. Neurologists DO NOT OPERATE on the brain or anything though we do some invasive procedures. You'd be surprised as to how many folks on Capitol Hill even have no clue what neurologists are & how they differ from psychiatry & neurosurgery so a BIG THANKS to Member1248600 who asked the question. Sorry, but if you really want to find out, you'll have to do some actual work yourself instead of expecting an answer on a silver platter.
