In brief: PhosLo

Phoslo is calcium acetate which binds phosphate in the intestinal tract so that it won't be absorbed.
Since it is not absorbed, it will have no effect on a developing fetus or a newborn when breast feeding.

In brief: Probably

Phoslo is used to help prevent build up of phosphates in women who's kidneys do not work well.
It should be used under a physician's supervision, with blood tests to check levels of chemicals in the blood. It may pass into breast milk, but is thought to be safe. It does have interactions with both iron and calcium supplements. Discuss this with your physician.
