Are there any less visible alternatives to braces? Braces are so obvious. Is there a less visible alternative for treating malocclusion? .

In brief: Yes, but...

Malocclusions are obvious too, for life.
There are less visible ways of correction, but unless in the hands of a truly gifted doctor and the case is not too difficult, conventional braces (clear or metal) are the most efficient way of correctly treating the problem. 1+ years in braces can give a lifetime of an equally obvious terrific smile. Life is full of compromises.

In brief: A few

Discuss your concerns with an orthodontist who also uses the lingual approach and invisalign.
The first technique uses brackets attached to the inside of the teeth. It usually costs 50% more and takes 50% longer. The second technique uses a series of thin plastic clear aligners. Discuss all your options before you make your final decision.

In brief: Yes, but...

If the alternatives were better than braces, orthodontists would have switched to those alternatives.
Although other types of appliances can provide some improvement for patients with a mild malocclusion, braces are still the best way to go. They are the most cost-effective and time-effective appliances and give the best result (by a wide margin). Think "best end result.".

In brief: Depends on your case

Braces and clear aligners can both provide dramatic benefits; however, an appointment with an orthodontic specialist is required to determine what is best for you and the associated professional fees.
Often there not much difference between the costs of the two options. There are typically no difference in treatment times and discomfort with invisalign may be slightly less.

In brief: Invisalign

Or clear braces are both alternatives you can consider. Discuss these with an orthodontist.
