Ask. Ask your doctor to perform a vaginal bacterial dna test. This test is usually done when persistent/chronic vaginitis is an issue. It will detect rare types bacteria that can cause vaginitis. You should also be reevaluated for the lesion on your vulva. A biopsy may be in order. Lastly, has your doctor considered vulvodynia or paget's disease of the vulva? If not, please inquire.
