In brief: Your

Your husband's symptoms can be attributed to parkinson's disease.
Parkinson's disease affects about 1 million people in the United States and 5 million people worldwide. Most people who develop parkinson's disease are over the age of 60, but it also can affect the 21-40 year old population known as early-onset parkinson's disease and there is a form of juvenile-onset parkinson's disease that exists. Parkinson's disease is caused by a lack of Dopamine due to a loss of dopamine-producing cells in the substancia nigra of the brain. This lack of Dopamine neurotransmitter causes a loss of communication between the substancia nigra and corpus striatum in the brain. The worse the depletion the greater the movement disorder symptoms. Brain cells also degenerate and abnormal clumps of cellular debris and inflammation called lewy bodies contribute to non-movement related sympthoms such as dementia. Oral medications are prescribed to increase the Dopamine levels in the brain and to improve the symptoms and lifespan of parkinson's patients.
