Yes. If the type of cancer is non small cell lung cancer, in some case, chemoradiation can shrink the cancer and make it operable whereas it may not be possible without the presurgical chemoradiation.
In inoperable patients who do not respond to standard chemoradiation, there are a good number of newer drugs for 'target therapy"i.e. They will target cancer cell with certain molecular structures.
