1 doctor agrees

In brief: Possibly

Not because of any direct effect of phototherapy.
In that age child, phototherapy has not been used in any studies i could find. Trying to use phototherapy on a child that age i believe, would likely be ineffective and possibly harmful. Harmful because they are developmentally too young to participate in or understand what is happening and could become afraid and traumatized unnecessarily.

In brief: Unknown

In addition to thinking about side effects, it is important to ask what evidence supports the use of phototherapy in a 2.
5 year old and for what condition. Discuss this plan with your pediatrician.
