How common is ptosis when using purtox? I'm thinking about having some purtox injections done, and i was wondering if ptosis was common with this drug? I don't want to have a drooping eyelid problem while i'm on vacation. .

In brief: This

This depends on the technique and the areas treated.
Ptosis generally occurs when the product reaches the levator muscles of the upper eyelid. This can occur when attempting to inject the frown lines or the forehead. In many instances, this occurs when individuals request complete eradication of wrinkles or lines requiring greater than average doses. It is less likely with lower doses and introducing more than 2 cm (a fingerbreadth or more) above the eyebrow with multiple concentrated lower volume injections.

In brief: Ptosis

Ptosis of the upper lids with any chemodenervation agent is rare.
It is more dependent on the injection location than the medication chosen. If any chemodenervation agent, botox, purtox, xeomin (incobotulinumtoxin a) or Dysport is injected and it diffuses into the upper eyelid muscles, you can get ptosis.
