Some of the sweetened sparkling waters are sweetened with artificial not "real" sugars.
They have their own drawbacks though somewhat different from "real" sugar. Read the label so at least you know what you are dealing with. Generally speaking unprocessed foods and drinks are the better way to go (read some of michael pollan's works like omnivore's dillema and in defense of food..).
