In brief: Band

You can take an appetite suppressant but that really isn't the answer. You need to figure out why you are gaining weight.
Eating too much food? Eating bad foods? Not exercising? Band too loose? Make sure your band is well adjusted. Maybe you need to see your surgeon. Address all of these issues first before thinking about taking diet pills.

In brief: No

You need to change your eating habits.
Pills are not the answer. They may have major side effects such as cardiac arrhythmia and death. So get help otherwise with your physician, nutritionist or psychologist.

In brief: Weight

Weight loss surgery has many effects on your body, including changes in how your body processes and absorbs nutrients.
This is more significant with gastric bypass surgery, but lap band surgery also affects these things. I would recommend that you continue close follow up with the surgeon who placed the lap band. You might need to have vitamin and nutrient levels checked, and may benefit from having the band inflated if you are not continuing to maintain your weight loss. Also, your surgeon may recommend nutritional counseling to help you maintain your weight loss. All the best, dr. Skourtis.

In brief: Better options

You've been through a lot! don't let all your hard work and effort go to waste.
If you feel that you are not getting full fast enough, talk to your bariatric surgeon about filling your band a little more.

In brief: Fatigue,

Fatigue, the band and one's general health should be evaluated prior to starting a stimulant, which would only be a short term fix for most people.
Hypothyroidism, menopause, and depression are common causes of fatigue and weight gain. An adjustment in the band may be needed if one's appetite and food intake has changed. The foundation of maintaining a weight is evaluation of one's caloric intake and exercise. If weight gain is occurring, one needs to consume less calories or burn more calories through increased activity. It isn't an easy thing to do, but there are several health care providers who provide weight loss guidance if one doesn't know where to begin.
