I had a compound fracture in my right tibia last year. The swelling has returned, should I be concerned? I have been on my feet quite a bit lately and think this is the cause. When should I become concerned and go to a doctor?

In brief: See your ortho

Compound "open" fracture carries a risk of infection.
Infection can still occur a yr out from injury. You need to see your ortho doc for an eval.

In brief: Please

Please see your physician and have your leg rechecked.
New swelling in an old fracture site might represent a new stress fracture, especially since you have been on your feet alot. Best wishes.
