Are . Are you a male or female? How old are you? How fast did you lose the forty pounds? What did you do to lose the weight? Was it deliberate or not ? Did you feel dissastisfied when you were forty pounds heavier? Are you pleased with your current body appearance? Have you dieted or experienced marked changes in weight in the past? Do you over-exercise to control your weight? Do you starve yourself to maintain your weight? Do you use laxatives or diuretics (water pills)to help control your weight)? Do you cause your self to vomit to control weight? Do you ever gorge on food to the point that your abdomen is uncomfortable? If the answer to many of these questions is yes, then you may benefit from the help of a therapist and a nutritionist. If the answers are no, then i agree that it is time to stop losing weight. If you feel ill since losing the 40 pounds, i recommend that you talk with your primary care provider.
A . A height of 5'3" and a weight of 95 lb correspond to a body mass index of 16.8. The normal bmi is considered to be between 18.5 and 24.9, so you fall into the "underweight" category. It's not clear from your question whether your 40 pound weight loss was something you did on purpose or something that happened on its own. If you've been dieting and are now underweight, then it's probably time to let your calorie intake go up a bit. If, on the other hand, you've lost that weight without intending to, then you should probably see your doctor. Unintended weight loss can indicate hormonal imbalances or other problems that may need to be treated.
