I had a sore throat & cough for 3days. I lost my voice. Now I am constantly coughing with no help from my albuterol. Can my albuterol be an issue?

Why are you using al. You apparently have a respiratory problem/you are using albuterol, and i suppose you have bronchial asthma the viral infection is causing the symptoms of laryngitis and you are hoarse, albuterol will only help the wheezing and cough, but if you have asthma you should be on inhaled steroids. So discuss with your doctor what is the best treatment for you sometimes we use oral steroids for hoaseness. Read more...

I lost my voice on 4/9, on 4/11 I started a bad cough, starting 4/13 when I have a bad cough attack I get real bad sharp pains a I do have phlem, clear-white in color, sometimes at night it feels like my throat is closing up. I don't have a sore throat.

It . It sounds like you have a viral infection which caused laryngitis(loss of voice because virus affected your voice box). Then it has moved into bronchitis, which is causing coughing attacks. Feeling of throat closing up and coughing fits could be from bronchospasm, which is due to narrowing and swelling of air ways. I recommend that you should see your physician for treatment. Bronchospasm is treated with albuterol. This medication helps relieve the spasm in the airways, helps the cough too. While this is being treated and it taking time to improve, cough can be suppressed with cough medication too in the mean time. If symptoms are treated, that will give the body chance to rest and divert that energy to fight the infection too. Read more...

Please keep taking your controller medicines you're usually on for your asthma, and use the rescue medicines, as Albuterol inhaler if you need for cough. Read more...
