In brief: Wait a Minute--

The real answer is to determine why the child is crying.
For example, if they have gas cramps or constipation, there may be natural products that help.It they have an ear infection, there are some pain relief strategies. Crying from a tantrum may need to be ignored. Find the cause is the best way to find the cure.

In brief: Depends on why

A baby with gas can be helped by gripe water (bicarb/ginger/fennel combo).
Cocyntal is a homeopathic colic remedy that can work amazingly sometimes. Camilia is a homeopathic teething remedy that's just as good. Arnica can help with many different kinds of pain. Calms 4 kids can help with a child who is crying and doesn't want to go to sleep. There are many others that are safe and available.

These are combination remedies rather than single ones. The advantage is that they do not require homeopathic training to use. The disadvantage is that if they don't work, the child needs a different remedy that is not in the bottle. Also at these potencies, some of the material subst

all true. That makes me want to refer back to Dr Diamond's answer, which is find the cause.

In brief: Sort of...

If you have a plan for dealing with a crying child, and if you carry it out consistently and calmly, the reassurance the child gets from that is what stops the crying.
Having an herbal tea as part of that plan is certainly harmless.
