Depends. The reason for the surgery was to cure, if not improve, epilepsy. Success depends upon area of seizure onset and results of presurgical workup. After surgery, seizures should be gone, or reduced. It may take one to three months to feel back to normal, just from the entire surgical experience and exposure to anesthesia. Some report headaches and numbness on the scalp, which goes away with time.
Complex answer. Hopefully your seizure frequency will decrease and you will not have any untoward complications. This depends on the preoperative workup and the indications for the surgery in the first place. There are a variety of surgical procedure performed for epilepsy, each with their corresponding success rates and complications. Without knowing the reason and surgical procedure it is difficult to comment.
