In brief: Shingles

Shingles cannot be passed from one person to another. However, the chicken pox virus that causes shingles is contagious to another person if the other person has not had chicken pox.
But, you will not or another person will not get chicken pox from your sister unless you were directly exposed to the lesions. If your sister had the area covered and washed her hands and you did not get exposed to the actual lesions you should be fine.
