If you stop taking norcos, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) can a drop show up negative five days later? Herniated l5

Don't Count on it. By a drop, i assume you mean a drug screen. The removal of drugs from the blood stream to a point where they are undetectable by common drug tests is variable for different patients.

Wean Off Opiates. Since you've been on the pain meds for such a long time, i recommend that you slowly wean off the meds over a 2-3 week period at least. If you are taking more than 3 tablets daily it may take longer to wean off. The reason is that you are dependent on the medications and abruptly stopping will result in a withdrawal syndrome. To avoid or reduce these symptoms i would recommend the slow wean. Read more...

Brother has degenerate disk disease n herniated disks takes alot (6 to 10 day) of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 10's for over 2yrs n nerves burned in spine. Worried it's bad.

Yes thats a lot. Taking any short acting med up to 10 per day is inappropriate. I would suggest you speak with your brother about this and maybe he needs to be evaluated by another spine specialist to evaluate his needs. If not better he may need to be evaluated for the need for an opiate medication holiday & wean and restarted on the right medications, like a long acting med alongside a short acting med as well.
