In brief: Sometimes

About 80-85% of patients will have a cure from resection of their pituitary tumor.
Unfortunately the remaining patients will have remnant symptoms from the tumor or recurrent tumor with recurrent symptoms over the upcoming years. Please fully discuss with your neurosurgeon.

In brief: Yes

There are different types of pituitary tumors.
In most cases removing the tumor helps reverse many of the symptoms of having the tumor. This is not true in every case, however. For example, people with growth hormone secreting pituitary adenomas can have excessive growth of their skeleton and face which does not reverse with removal of the tumor.
