In brief: It depends
If you don't have any trouble falling asleep, then this is not a problem. For people with bad insomnia, i tell them to use the bed only for sleeping.
If you are not ready for sleep or can't fall asleep, you should go to another room to read, watch tv quietly, etc. Then you can return to the bed to try to fall asleep again. It is a way of training the insomniac's body to use the bed only for sleep.
