If I don't sleep well everynight, will this have a serious affect on my health?

Not sure. There is some evidence that overtime short sleepers (less than 6 hours per night) have worse heart health than others. This may be due to an increased overall fight or flight response (overactive adrenaline system). Nonetheless, worrying only makes the problem worse. Therefore, if you are concerned, have an honest conversation with your sleep physician.
