In brief: Yes.

When the saphenous vein is removed for coronary bypass, the side branches of this vein are closed with staple (clips).
These are stainless steel and are permanent. They do not dissolve and will always be seen on x-ray or mri. Using stainless steel staples is normal protocol.

In brief: There

There are multiple different surgical techniques that are performed for bypass surgery.
The best way would be to call the nurse in the office of your cardiothoracic surgeon and askt hem. If you have any leg redness, swelling, or fever then you would need to be seen as an emergency.
