In brief: Possibly

When your teeth are moving and subconsciously or consciously you feel that your teeth are not hitting correctly, you may clench and grind to attempt to "mill" the bite down to make them hit "correctly".
Not good but can happen.

In brief: Braces

Maybe but not necessarily.
This is difficult to answer without seeing your bite and doing an exam. Teeth grinding can be due to a bad bite, stress, tension on the teeth from the braces, and a whole bunch of other things. It could be one of these things or 2 or all of them. It's best to discuss with your doc what you're experiencing.
