Are there any east Asian therapies for insomnia?

Acupuncture. I treat quite a few men who have combat related post traumatic stress disorder. Sleep is a major problem for them. Chinese scalp acupuncuture has been very helpful. However french auricular acupuncture with semi-permanent needles provides a more lasting effect. Acupressure can also be used.
Acupuncture. In chinese medicine, acupuncture is the most common therapy for insomnia. However, its efficacy has not been well established by the studies done so far. Among herbal medications, valerian and melatonin (not chinese medicines but more western herbs) are also commonly used.
