In brief: Meniscal tears

There are several types of meniscal tears (see pic).
Some meniscal tears occur w/ acute injury & some as degenerative changes (over time). Common symptoms include pain, swelling, clicking/ popping, locking/ catching, giving way, and/ or limited range of motion. Hope this helps. You may wish to try thessaly test, but it is best if you let a physician examine you and possibly order an MRI to be sure.

In brief: You

You may have a retear or other problem to the knee.
Since you are able to reproduce pain with the same motion the problem is likely mechanical in nature. Go see your ortho and have an MRI done.
