In brief: No, no, no

Although a few surgeons do perform high volume liposuction, it is not generally used to achieve weight loss.

In brief: No lipo to lose wt.

Liposuction is not a replacement for diet and exercise and is not a weight reduction technique.
More risks exist when removing a large quantity of fat, such as more than 4 liters. If one is overweight to begin with, then in all liklihood, without changing exercise or diet, the same life style habits will cause one to gain all the weight back after liposuction, just in different areas.

Liposuction is best for removing localized deposits of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise in a patient whose weight is stable.
It is not a substitute for diet and exercise.

In brief: No.

Liposuction is more about shape than it is about weight.
The best candidates for liposuction are at or near their goal weight but have a few areas of excess fat which are persistent despite being otherwise in good shape. This is often the lateral or medial thighs and lower abdomen in women and around the waist or chest in men. The patient's weight changes only a few pounds.

Self- discipline diet exercise is best.
Liposuction best for localized fat deposits ( lipodystrophy) especially slim lipo. Massive lipo has been done but requires massive IV fluids replacement in the hospital after surgery.
