Is laser liposuction a new and therefore risky procedure?

Laser lipo not new. Laser-assisted liposuction has been around for many years and has been improved. The laser may induce more tightening but does add a risk of thermal burn and thermal scarring that doesn't exist in standard tumescent liposuction.
Not new. Laser lipo has been around now for several years. Just like with any surgical procedure, laser lipo is only as safe as the physician performing it. If done correctly, it can result in faster healing and tighter skin and less bruising than with traditional lipo. There is a slightly higher risk of causing a burn to the skin if the doctor has poor technique and does not keep the laser moving.
Smart Lipo new? The laser liposuction was fda cleared in nov. Of 2006 for the company cynosure. They coined/trademarked the name "smart lipo". The initial smart lipo unit was a 6 watt 1064 nm wavelength. Since that time the advances in power - 6 watts to 40 watts, and the number of wavelengths of light - 1064, 1320, now 1440nm's has been a process. Hope this helps. Regards.
Similar to lipo. As with any procedure, there are risks but they are less in the hands of an experienced surgeon. The risks with laser lipo are very similar to those associated with standard lipo. The laser can cause burns to the skin if not handled properly. Tumescent liposuction is a very safe procedure in the right hands, adhering to proper guidelines about maximum limits of Lidocaine and volume of fat removed.
Laser Lipo. Laser lipo combines 2 very proven technologies. When used in an appropriate way by experienced surgeons, laser lipolysis actually has significant advantages compared with traditional liposuction alone. Hope this helps!

Maybe riskier. Laser lipo uses a laser to emulsify the fat and stimulate the skin to tighten with heat, so there is a small risk of skin burns and a slightltly higher risk of scarring in the layer under the skin. Liposuction is done after the laser application. So even though by definition it is riskier and more invasive than lipo alone, it is often marketed as being safer!
Potentially risky. Like any invasive surgical technique laser liposuction has the potential for complications. Compared to traditional liposuction, I am not aware of studies evaluating the relative safety. However, the laser tip can become quite hot and cause damage if pressed for prolonged periods against the skin or deeper structures.
Slim Lipo. Is very safe and well-tested. See palomar website, 877drsisto drsisto.Com info@drsisto.Com.
Not Really. Laser assisted liposuction is the newest of the technologies to help with fat removal during liposuction. In trained hands, it is vey safe. The major risks that are present are essentially the same as in any liposuction procedure. The main specific risk is a burn from the laser, however these risks should be minimal in experienced hands.
