Yes for several reasons.
First - touching the floor is comforting to little ones and alleviates some fears. Two - they can practice while you go and learn and train better. Three - little, portable potties are great when taken in a car - they make training on the go so much easier - who wants to race to find a gross fast food restaurant bathroom? Use the potty in the car and dump when possible.
