Yes. Let her get hungry for real. No juice, no snacks, and "i'm hungry, but only for what I like" does not mean that she's hungry. "i'm hungry for whatever you got" - now that is hungry.
Yes. Offer regular foods and if child refuses to eat, excuse him/her from the table without making a big fuss. When the child gets hungry offer the same food as if it is being offered for the first time. Do not offer special foods to encourage eating or the child will always hold out for the special foods. A stubborn child may miss a meal but will eat whatever is offered at the next meal :-).
