In brief: Electromyography

The test is done via mild electrical shocks over various nerves, and the impulse is recorded over a muscle.
We have normal values for voltage and velocity and compare results with expected normal values. A needle electrode part evaluates the effect of nerve dysfunction on the muscle, and can sort out patterns. At time of test, have your doctor explain fully what he/she intends to do.
