Is there a test for herpes at my doctor's office? If i possibly contracted this, it would have been 10 months ago. I would assume that i would have had some symptoms by now, which i haven't, if i had contracted this. However, i'm not sure. I am a 68 ye

There are antibody tests for herpes types i and ii.
The antibody test will detect whether you have ever been exposed. A recent exposure (within the past several weeks) can be tested/confirmed using igm levels but your exposure was beyond this window. Initial herpes ii infection generally has painful genital ulcers which it sounds like you haven't had.
