This is the classic pattern of occipital migraine.
This is of central origin (nothing wrong with your eye) and if it happens again cover each eye in turn and you will see the pattern in the same spot in each eye These last 5 min to 2 hours, are sometimes quiet entertaining and always end with no residual problems. You may get 1-3 in a lifetime but a few get them more often.
