Could medical marijuana help? I have migraines on an almost daily basis to due to suffering numerous concussions throughout my life. I've tried prescriptions that didn't work. Do you think medical marijuana could be a good solution to my issue? Thanks for

In brief: Preventive meds

The best treatment for migraine is 1)finding out if there are foods or other environmental factors causing them and avoiding those things and 2) medications that prevent (not treat) migraine like verapamil, beta blockers or low-dose tricyclic antidepressants.
Best treatment is with triptans. Some of my patients have gotten benefit from 'medical' mj, but most have not. Plus- unknown purity&smoked.

In brief: Marijuana

Marijuana has been shown clinically to be a very poor analgesic agent.
It is probably no more effective as a painkiller than a mild narcotic. Its' best use is in cancer patients to improve appetite and improve mood and decrease anxiety. There is unfortunately a lot of hype regarding medical marijuana, which has not been proven in clinical trials. I would seek a good neurologist who deals with headaches in his/her practice.
