How can I manage osteoporosis without drugs? Are there any ways to treat osteoporosis without using prescription drugs (for example, by using vitamins or other supplements)?

In brief: If

If you already have established osteoporosis it is very difficult to avoid medications to treat it.
The addition of calcium and vitamin d supplements will help maintain an adequate supply of this nutrients to the bone but in most cases is not enough to help the bone retain them and therefore medications that help prevent bone loss are needed. Weight bearing exercises will help maintain bone mass after it has been reestablished.
