In brief: Many causes

One of the most common causes of hip pain.
Is osteoarthritis. Oa is usually seen in middle and old age, I do not know your age. Other causes include impingement syndromes, bursitis, muscle issues, back disease, trauma, transient osteoporosis, osteonecrosis or avn, and the list goes on. I recommend that you see your pcp or an orthopedic surgeon. www.aaos.org/findanortho/.
