In brief: Variable
An average may be 5-8 hours.
But there different levels of complexity to consider for both the donated organ and the recipient.

In brief: It varies.
It depends, but times in general have decreased dramatically over the years.
At our institution our usual time from skin incision to closure is 4 hrs and 20 min and that includes a 30 min break to see how well the liver is going to function. But i've been involved in transplants completed in less than 3 hrs and in others that have taken nearly 10 hrs.
