In brief: Absolutely
Happens every day! however, there is a tendency to have donors and recipients in the same age ranges.
This is particularly true for donor organs over age 60, that are most often given to older recipients.

In brief: Yes
In general, younger is better than older. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of organs so we are increasingly using older, less healthy organs.
When possible, we try to put older organs into older patients who may not be healthy enough to wait around for a better, younger organ.
