RICE. rest ice and elevation when sitting. could be tendonitis or a strain. take it easy for a few days, then start using heat on it for the next 2-3 days. PT usually best. RICE is appropriate but best to see a physical therapist for a good rehab program. This can turn into a very nagging problem if not treated appropriately. If truly an Achilles tendinopathy then eccentric strengthening can be very helpful.
