In brief: Control the bacteria

If you have gum diease you have a bacterial infection under the gum tissue.
Consider the perio protect method as it is able to deliver a hydrogen peroxide gel into the gum pocket and keep it there long enough to kill 99.98% of the bacteria in 17 days. Then use it to keep the bacteria from growing back.

In brief: Keep the gum clean

Once all the teeth fall out, pyorrhea, the condition better known as periodontits stops.
However, rinsing and brushing the gum will help to prevent other oral superinfection such as candidiasis.

In brief: Gum Disease

Pyorrhea also known as gum disease is a very common infection.
If you still have teeth i would recommend you attempt to save them. (do a search for lanap). If you have already lost your teeth i would recommend you have implants placed in order to maintain the bone level. Hope this helps, .

In brief: No teeth, no perio

After all the teeth fall out, you no longer can have periodontitis and there is no further damage.
However, brush the gum to eliminate odor to control bacterial localiztion in the surface of the oral mucosa.
