Clobazam was recently prescribed as a seizure medication but now my daughter is complaining of chest pains. This is not listed as a side effect. Why could it be?

In brief: Unrelated

Clobazam: belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines, which act on the brain and nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect.
You are correct, chest pain is not commonly seen with this drug. See your internist or neurologist to evaluate other possible causes for the chest pains.

In brief: Lennox-Gastaut?

Clobazam (onfi) is not new.
It has been used around the world for many years. It has just now been allowed here in the us. It is a form of benzodiazepine similar to klonopin (clonazepam). Chest pain is not an expected side effect. However, if she is having too much reaction without adequate benefit, it may not be the correct medication for her. Discuss these issues with her doctor.

In brief: Still call

Still call the doctor. More unusual side effects may not be listed.
Even so, the doctor needs to know.
