How long does it take to get cancer from chewing tobacco? I've been chewing for a year and i'm a hypochondriac about these things.

In brief: You know the cure

How fortunate you are -- you know how to cure yourself of worry! simply stop chewing tobacco since you realize it can cause oral cancer.
There is no definitive time limit on this, but you can certainly prevent it from now on.

In brief: Not much time . . .

Risk of getting oral cancer from chewing/dipping tobacco depends upon how much you chew/dip and how frequently you do so.
It also depends upon placement (same every time or different each time) as well as intangibles like family genetics. Best to think in terms of years. Better than trying to calculate your risk, just quit chewing/dipping. Living w/your tongue and/or jaw removed isn't fun.
