Can you tell me when speaking about anxiety symptoms, is it referring to generalised anxiety disorder or all types of anxiety?

It depends upon the. Author and the focus of the topic. Unfortunately anxiety in the psychiatric literature is often thrown around indiscriminately and is not further clarified as to the type of anxiety that is being referenced. Therefore the issue can be confusing. Unless it is specified I have no idea whether it is generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, ptsd anxiety, phobic anxiety, psychotic anxiety, or any of the other types of anxieties out there.Best wishes. Generalised anxiety disorder. Condition mild but flares up once drugs are stopped. Does it mean patient needs to be on medication for life?

Not necessarily... Depending on the meds, the body may need more or less time to adjust to not having the meds anymore. Also, hopefully, underlying issues have been worked through in therapy and alternative ways of handling anxiety and life (eg relaxation, deep breathing, eft) learned. While meds are hopefully and usually not for life, coping with life is for life. ;) good luck! Read more...
