If I have Crohn's disease, can I still get the lap band?

In brief: Yes

It is a contra indication to market for that but it can be done.

In brief: Yes

The diagnosis of crohn's disease does not preclude having a lap band placed.
There are many complex issues regarding this decision. If one is on immunosuppressive medications it increases the surgical risk. In addition, multiple prior surgeries and a history of fistula formation may also preclude having a lap band. You need to review the risks and benefits very carefully with your physicians!
