In brief: IBD, IBS

These are three totally different conditions.
Lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus) is an autoimmune connective tissue disorder. Ibd (inflammatory bowel disease, refers to ulcerative colitis, crohns disease, and indeterminate colitis) ibs refers to syndromes of abdominal pain, and irregular bowel habits that occurs in the absence of other diseease not found on routine evaluation.

In brief: U can not

Symptoms can be similar. Hustory, exam, blood work, tests, enfodcopy etc.
Can help narrow the diagnosis. Ibs is usually when nothing else matches.

In brief: Tricky

Best bet is to see a rheumatologist first as this person deals with autoimmune disease all the time.
They will do the proper work up and help direct you to a gastroenterologist if that is a necessary part of the work up.
