In brief: Pelvic joint

Groin pain radiating to the buttock is characteristic for pelvic girdle joint disorder. The buttock aspect of the pain is called sciatica.
Pain generated by a sacroiliac joint can refer to the groin region as well as cause sciatica. Vertebral spine disorders characteristically do not radiate to the groin. If this persists an osteopath can diagnose and advise.
