I have a cough, gets worse when I lay down &a sore, red throat. It hurts to swallow. I have green mucus in the corner of my left eye almost constantly?
Doctor can check. Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold, influenza or adenovirus (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the symptoms are bothersome, recurrent or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat).
